Rights, protection cited as reasons to openly carry firearm

Caleb Larsen carries a firearm in a holster on his hip. Doing so is legal in Nebraska and doesn’t require a permit, unlike carrying a concealed weapon. Larsen said the most common question he gets when people ask why he’s carrying a gun is if he’s a police officer. So why does Larsen openly carry? Partly, it’s for protection. But mostly, he said, it’s because he has a constitutional right to do it.
