USA Volleyball – Atlanta Vibe kicks off training camp today – iVolley Magazine

The Atlanta Vibe, the Georgia city's first professional women's volleyball team, opened training camp today, Wednesday, January 3, with 20 athletes (as sampled from the top professional sports in the states) to compete against 14. The Atlanta Vibe will be on the roster for the inaugural season, which begins on January 24th.
Coach Todd Dagenois leads a group of athletes (Olympians, NCAA Champions and AVCA All-Americans) through a three-week “camp” that will culminate in a final roster to lead the Vibe in the hunt for their first Pro Volleyball Federation championship.
Vibe's training camp roster has several players to keep an eye on. Among them is libero Morgan Hentz (pictured), who has competed with Team USA for the past two years and brings her experience to Atlanta. After leading the Stanford Cardinal to three NCAA championships, the “2023 Athletics Unlimited Defensive Player” has three years of professional experience (also earned in the German League). Joining him is his NCAA Championship teammate, Megan McClure Jemison.
This week's camp will be our first look at Atlanta hammer Leah Edmond as she joins Vibe after winning the Athletes' Unlimited Champion title. Edmond stood out at Kentucky before starting her pro career and became the first signee of the new Pro Volleyball Federation.
Setter Tori Tilfer-Stringer (ex-Perugia) leads Wiebe to championship after working with the league to help the league grow. In fact, both Tilfer-Stringer and Morgan Hentz serve as player relations associates for the Pro Volleyball Federation.
Magda Jehlářová (2nd overall Central Draft pick by the Czech Republic), Lavoraka Navokolo, Whitney Bower, Kamil Hiapo and Kara McGee begin their careers after being selected by Vibe in the 2023 draft. Professional career after signing with the Vibe as a free agent following the draft. Regan Pittman is on the court after spending the last two years of her post-graduation starting and running her own business, Stand Tall Volleyball Academy.
Jan. Team rosters must be reduced to 14 players and two practice players by Monday the 22nd.
