McQueen’s car up for auction
According to Mecum’s estimates, the legendary A Shelby Cobra can be worth between $1.25 and $1.5 million. (€1.1 and €1.4 million). The first owner was film producer David L. Wolper, while the second owner was Elmer Bernstein, who loaned the car to McQueen between 1965 and 1967.
The car was then sold to an American collector, before ending up in Switzerland in 2003 and England in 2006. It has covered a total of around 27,000 kilometres. The conditions are not ideal, but under the hood is a powerful 4.7 V8 engine, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car is listed in the Shelby registry.
