From the PlayStation Vita catalog we see a somewhat unexpected return, with Freedom Wars Redesigned who was It was announced with a presentation trailer. From Bandai Namco, the action RPG is set to return to PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, complete with release date Fixed.
The game will arrive on January 10, 2025 on the respective platforms, as a modified and enhanced version of the original. Released 10 years ago on PlayStation VitaIt offers the same original story and content but with completely updated graphics.
Originally developed by Dimps and released in 2014, Freedom Wars was published directly by Sony on the PlayStation Vita at the time, and was managed as a first-party type, and was also a huge success on that platform.
Special futuristic action RPG game
It is a third-person action RPG game, equipped with Multiplayer and online sitewith cooperative and competitive elements for up to 8 players in the game.
Freedom Wars Remastered is published by Bandai Namco but the project is still led by Takashi Tsukamoto, the director of the original.
“We’ve wanted to make a sequel since the game came out 10 years ago, but the opportunity never came up,” Tsukamoto said. “This time we were lucky enough to have the opportunity and with Bandai Namco Entertainment producing as we developed.” With the 10th anniversary, the time was right to do something.
The game is set in The dystopian futureIn a world ravaged by pollution and depleted natural resources, humanity lives in sprawling prison complexes called the Panopticon. Anyone born into this hellish landscape is considered a “sinner” and is essentially denied freedom from birth.
Players then seek salvation by volunteering for high-risk combat operations, competing with other panopticons to seize what remains of the planet’s dwindling resources.
