Palestinian Authority President Abu Mazen was greeted with long applause before he delivered his speech to the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He said, “We will not leave. We will not leave. Palestine is our land and we will not leave. If anyone leaves, they are the ones occupying it,” accusing Israel of committing genocide and calling for it to stop.

The whole world is responsible for what is happening to our people in Gaza.” He added: “I regret that the American administration, the largest democracy in the world, thwarted, using its veto, the UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza three times. Moreover, it sends lethal weapons to Israel to kill our people.” People.” He continued: “I do not understand why the United States continues to deprive us of our legitimate rights,” stressing that Israel “does not deserve” to be a member of the United Nations.
Then Abu Mazen put forward several requests to his people. Starting with “an immediate ceasefire, the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, where they have nothing, and the complete withdrawal of Israel.”
He added: “We do not want to fight Israel, but we want to protect our people and our families. The Palestinian state must impose its full authority over Gaza and the West Bank. We do not ask for more, but we do not want less.”
He said: “What do we need to become the 194th country in the United Nations? We have the land, we have the people, we have the culture, and we are not missing anything.” Abu Mazen called for “holding an international conference within a year for a two-state solution. We want security for both countries.”
