The University of Nebraska-Lincoln's School of Music in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts presented an operatic performance of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Our Town" on Thursday at noon.
Set in Grover's Corners, N.H., in the opening years of the twentieth century, the play—and now the opera—depict the everyday lives of the townspeople. Additional performances of "Our Town" will be presented at 7:30 Friday night and at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Music for the performances is provided by the UNL Philharmonia. NewsNetNebraska's Elicia Dover was on hand for the opening performance.
