Jenifer Calandra, NewsNetNebraskaGoodwill stores in Lincoln accept donations from about 65 people every day, leaving employees to process approximately 600 pieces of clothing and 700 other items for sale. NewsNetNebraska's Jenifer Calandra spent some time recently at one Goodwill store.

Great little video! As a fellow Goodwill employee, I,too, enjoy being part of Goodwill Industries. What I love most about my job seeing the positive results of teamwork after a day of hard work. A person can work in an office cubicle all day, but come away feeling like an insignificant part of a huge corporation. Working and interacting with my co-workers and customers, knowing that what I do plays a very important part in providing jobs and services to people, as well as a great variety of high-quality goods to cost conscious shoppers gives me the satisfaction I never got from my other careers. And yes, even if I won the Lottery, I would still be doing this.

Most of this video is factual. This video states that "Nothing is thrown away at Goodwill", but that is totally false. While it is true that Goodwill recycles SOME items like metal, they are not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts - they get money for these items! Goodwill throws away huge amounts of items - which all ends up in the landfill. I know because I used to work for them. I remember one of my bosses telling me Goodwill got a bill of $20,000 from the garbage company. You don't get huge bills like that from "throwing nothing away." I would rather give my used items to friends and relatives, than give to Goodwill and have my donations possibly turned into carpet padding or landfill filler! -chad riveria

I also worked at Goodwill in another community. A lot of inconsiderate people donate things that can't be used. Soiled mattresses, clothes that have been flooded, broken glass etc. Very very wrong. You sound like you are a bitter ex employee that may not know or be able to give factual/truthful info.

Phil Morgan, I am a bitter ex employee, but what I stated was the truth. Current employees are very unlikely to expose the truth, because they might fear getting fired. I was fired for speaking my opinions.
