Andy Vipond, 22, is a graduate from Creighton Preparatory School in Omaha, Nebraska, and is a senior journalism major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Vipond spent his summer month’s chasing tornadoes and interning at WOWT Channel 6 News in Omaha. Vipond is a part of a storm-chasing group called Nebraska Twister Chasers. The group’s main goal is to provide public safety during a storm before all else.

Vipond’s focus within his journalism major is news broadcasting. After graduating college he plans to return to Omaha to be a field reporter for a local TV station and then hopes to work his way up to a national news company.

After graduating and getting a job, Vipond plans to take graduate classes in meteorology so he can gain more knowledge about storm chasing and what he loves to do outside of reporting.
