Sisters read together and connect at library
Sisters Tanis and Keely Bennetts on Saturday tagged along with their mom to the Bess Dodson Walt Branch library.
“I love coming to the library to read books about fairies,” said Tanis, who is 8. “I read one called the ‘The Land of Stories.’ Kids Alex and Conner jump inside the book ‘Land of Stories’ and have to find a magic wishing spell to get out.”
Tanis and Keely, 9, don’t spend a lot of time using technology at home. The girls love coming to the library to get a bit of screen time, but their mother, Jennifer Bennetts, is glad they like to read actual books.
“I think a lot of people are in to reading books online now,” she said. “I like flipping the pages and having the kids look at the artwork in the books they read.”
The Walt library hosts a variety of different of events for kids. During the month of February, those included a teen video game night, art club and writers group.
Keely recommends that all of her friends come to the library if they love to read and play on the computer.
