Benjamin Schoenkin

Benjamin Schoenkin is a junior broadcasting and political science major who lived in New York and Illinois before moving to Nebraska. Schoenkin has watched local and national TV news programs since he was very young.

He attended the summer High School Journalism Institute at Indiana University before his senior year in high school.He knew following the program that he wanted to become a local TV news general assignment reporter.

Benjamin firmly believes that all stories can have an impact upon the community and he makes it his goal to always tell the story to the fullest.

Benjamin hosts a show on KRNU2 titled “Cornhusker State Politics and Beyond.” The show covers local, state, and national politics and airs on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m.

This past summer Schoenkin interned at Channel 8 Eyewitness News in Lincoln and he really enjoyed the opportunity to shadow reporters.

When Benjamin is not packaging a story or hosting his show, he can be found watching Huskers and Packers (his father is from Wisconsin) games.
