Kelly Keogh wants to fuse her love of sports with her love of telling good stories.
Keogh, a senior broadcast journalism major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, grew up in Lisle Ill, a suburb of Chicago.
There she interned last summer at Comcast Sportsnet – Chicago. From that internship, she decided that she would like to go into sports communications or public relations field instead of being a reporter. She enjoys working behind the scenes as opposed to in front of the camera.
“Interning at CSN made for the best job I’ve ever had. It really helped me see that working with sports is my dream job,” Keogh said.
Keogh played hockey for 17 years; many of which were for her hometown team of Team Illinois. Her favorite team is the Chicago Blackhawks. Now, she plays hockey for fun and would like to see a hockey arena in Lincoln.
Outside of school Keogh loves to watch all sports, watch movies and hang out with friends.
“My dream job would be to work with a media relations office for a professional hockey team,” Keogh said.
