Heather Haskins; Animal lover & News ed major

Heather Haskins is a senior news-editorial major from Omaha, Neb. Haskins attended Millard North high school before attending the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.

Haskins worked for the Daily Nebraskan on and off for two and a half years. Now, she works for IANR News Service, located on UNL’s east campus. IANR News Service focuses on reporting stories related to agriculture and UNL’s Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

She hopes to eventually work for a companion animal magazine.

“I started off wanting to be a veterinarian, but I chose to go with my strength in writing instead,” Haskins said.

In her free time Haskins likes to knit, play piano and read. Her favorite books  are the Harry Potter series.
