Andrew Peters Jr. is not your run-of-the-mill ex-high school athlete. After graduating from Tri-County High School in 2008, Peters decided to pursue the “aesthetic side” of athletics after being an active member of varsity sports throughout his high school career. I wanted to explore the other side of exercise since I wasn’t playing sports anymore,” Peters said.
With a bachelors of science in exercise science beneath his belt, as well as being an National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certified specialist, Peters is pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
In addition to his studies, Peters is a graduate assistant strength coach for the UNO swimming and diving team as well as men’s and women’s tennis.
“I also assist with all the other sports that need help, such as hockey,” Peters said. He is also marketing director/content manager for supplementreviews.com, a free site that reviews different supplements.
Not only does Peters “practice what he preaches” with helping others be healthy and fit, he also follows those rules for himself.
“I’d say, currently, I’m in the best physical shape of my life,” he said, “I’m doing a self-experiment this summer to see how low I can get my body fat without losing any strength or muscle mass.”
Being fit and healthy has always been a big part of Peters’ life. “If I can’t tell what animal a protein comes from, I don’t eat it.”
