A year from now, Bob Al-Greene would love to be the founder and leading illustrator of an online comics site. But today, he’ll settle for drawing comics at the Daily Nebraskan. Al-Greene’s talent was inspired by his parents’ interest in classic characters like Godzilla, not their ability to draw them. “My parents have no artistic talent whatsoever,” says Al-Greene.

Al-Greene’s contribution to the Daily Nebraskan has earned him awards for art and page design but with December graduation looming ahead, he’ll have to leave the familiar print world for his online comics dream.

Why did Al-Greene choose journalism? That’s a questions even he often has a hard time answering. “Sometimes I wish I would have switched to art school to focus on what I love doing.”
